All About Penda Coffee Co.

At Penda Coffee Co., we donate 50% of our profits to an organization called New Hope Initiative. this team of people have heart for students in Kenya who are trying to make a better life for themselves through education. In Kenya, these children live in the world's second largest slum called Kibera, where over one million people live in less than one square mile.

The Penda project sponsored by New hope Initiative, financially supports eight grade students at their school in Kibera (New Hope Academy) who have passed their national exam to go to high school. Majority of students who do pass this national exam do not have the funds to pay for high school, so they stay in the cycle of property. The cost of secondary school in Kenya is around $600 per year for a student to attend. The students go to a boarding school where they have access to a solid roof over their head and three meals a day.
