Eddie’s Story

One of the students who successfully made it out of Kibera through New Hope Academy, went to high school, and completed college is a young man named Eddy Mwangi. Eddy grew up in Kibera and when he was young, his father passed away which left his mother to take care of him and his many siblings in a 100 square foot home. Eddy studied hard in school and eventually with the help of New Hope, was able to go to college. To date, Eddy has completed his undergraduate degree and has completed his second Master’s degree in Engineering.

He is now pursuing his doctoral degree as well. He is a very bright young man and has become a light in his community and in New Hope Academy.
